HP printer gone nuts
Hi - when I booted up my desktop this morning my HP K5400n printer printed out a red sheet saying "Important please read - checking device. This
process might take several minutes. Do not turn off the device; do not open or close covers."
It then went nuts doing all sorts of noisy things for 10 minutes and has now settled down - anyone know what that's about as it has never done
this since I bought it some years ago.

It'll be the millenium bug just getting round to you
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

It's a printer man! What do you expect? And you're probably using Windows too?
It looks like the Midget is winning at the moment......

My printer (an epson) tries to print things at random! (like when no application is open other than the DVD player).
Incidentally the best printer I've ever had was a HP 5900 series. Did absolutely nothing other than print (no scanners or mini screens or
anything) but printed amazingly, borderless a4 prints, text anything. Always topped up with a syringe and refill inks and it printed as good as ever
with them. Dropped it off the shelf a few times, it's been through 3 house moves, and always worked brilliantly.
In fact I'm looking to get another one second hand to replace my All-(Crap)-In-One epson.
Good luck!
