It may not help but I use TuneIn radio for the iPad and iPhone. It records any Internet radio and has zillions of channels to listen to.

You do need to playback via the app but it's still hi quality and you can pan and scan backwards and forwards with it. It's a brill app.

I was that impressed with it I spashed out and bought the paid version... 69p I think I paid.

Yup, last of the big spenders...

He does a podcast, might be what your after

Im up in Northumberland , and DAB radios here are only good for propping doors open, I see your in the Welsh boonies, so research DAB before you spend.

If you have a smartphone the podcast could be dropped down onto wifi etc.

I know the iplayer application downloads programmes and sticks them in my "video" folder

Maybe the radio does the same? I shall check now.

If I'm right you could possibly shift the file

Edit: nope doesn't appear to be working like that...

Liam, don't sure why you don't want to use a PC when you'll have to use one to get it on your iPod anyway. You can't download and store entire radio shows via the BBC as there's always the music copyright issue, unless it's a special show with music done just for the show, hence BBC podcast have all the chat but not much music.

I have a Pure Evoke DAB radio:

You can record to an SD card any programme you want with a series link (never use it these days, but did for a while for the Craig Charles show), but you'll still have to plug that into your PC and put it into Itunes, and the radio's are £100 ++.

Probably better going for the software option on your PC as others have mentioned.

InTune app for iPhone (if you've got one) is brilliant for all sorts of radio. It's internet, not FM based so make sure you've got WiFi but it's good quality and can record stuff to play back later within the app.
