Damn Bill Gates

hello all. I gotta small problem!

i bought a camera phone yesterday. When trying to put the software for the data lead onto my computer, it said i need service pack one or two from microsoft. So i downloaded this from $ Bill, but for some inexplicable reason, my windows product code is invalid and it wont install it!

is there any way round this, short of buying a new copy of dirty windows?

any help appreciated...

the origin of the faulty product code is cos its a mates copy... allegedly!

Was the copy a copy?

If it's on their list of known stolen copies it won't install SP2 according to the publicity. A friend of mine had a Tiny computer with HDD trouble so I used the HDD manufacturers utility on it and reformatted it. I asked him for the OS and he said he never got one with it, only some recovery software and he'd lost that. I copied another legit disk and put him that on and he rang up to get an activation code no problem. I don't run XP, I stayed with 2000 pro, off ebay for £35.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I should track down the company that made the camera + software. They should keep their software up to date instead

my brother tells me that the 20 most common product codes have been blocked. i suspect i am using one of these. Not sure what to do about it really.

jonte, its a nokia 7610 camera phone, i dunno why the cable drivers need sp1, hell, i dont even know what sp1 does. probably fixes the fix before i guess...i suspect its a windows problem rather than nokias fault - the cable drivers must've been made to go on up to date versions of windows...

sod it i guess, might be time to upgrade the computer! or at least, reformat it.
