Anyone have a login for Oracle that allows Sun BIOS update downloads
To fix an Ultra 24 workstation I need to download this:
"Sun Ultra 24 Workstation Tools and Drivers DVD 1.4.0" from here:
http://sosc-dr.sun.com/desktop/workstation/ultra24/downloads.jsp
However since Oracle bought Sun they have helpfully put all the downloads under lock and key - when you click on the Download link you get an Oracle
page explaining this. Do you do the initial registration then see this:
"Add Support Identifiers
Support Identifiers are the "contract" between your organization and Oracle. They define the privileges you have to file service requests,
download patches and more. These privileges are approved and set by an administrator in your organization. You need at least one support identifier in
your account to get to most features."
I don't have any of that, so essentially I'm shafted. All I need to do is re-flash the BIOS as there is a known bug where it stops being
able to detect the fans speeds so puts them all into over drive meaning you don't want to be in the same room as the damn thing.
(fault described here: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19127-01/ultra24.ws/820-2478-17/index.html#0_45430)
It is still lurking on Bit Torrent but it's about 3 years old so there are no seeders
If anyone has such a login you could save me a lot of stress. I may have a colleague who has one but won't be able to talk to them until next
week.

Any chance you can help then mate? I'm not sure how big the file is one of the torrents it's 5MB but as it states DVD I'm more
inclined to believe the one that is 1.3GB.

Looked on e-delivery but it's not there.
So you can find the iso download with your account it just won't let you have it?
It's chuffing ridiculous that you effectively have to have a support contract in place to get a BIOS update to fix a fault!

Anyone else able to assist with this as it's driving everyone crazy with the fans running at full tilt all the time for no reason!
