WebGL on Old Computer Help Required
I have an old Compaq Presario SR1909UK which I was hoping I could use to learn OnShape 3D Cad.
Although it’s a very low spec machine I thought it may be OK because, I was assuming, the main computing power would actually be on the OnShape
servers.
The Actual Spec is as shown:
Operating System – Windows XP Home SP3
AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3500+
1.43 GB RAM
Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE
OnShape reports that my browser (Chrome) is OK for this application but says that WebGL is disabled.
I have tried looking at chrome://flags and enabling WebGL but it still won’t run. I suspect the graphics card is not suitable but before I even look
at weather it’s possible to update this does anyone have any advice. (I suspect the real answer is to get a better computer but I don’t really have
the money for that at the moment).
John.

If you are ever near Epsom Surrey I have just put an old XP PC in the loft going cheap.
Was going to Ebay it, but looking at prices it's not worth enough for the hassle.
Works fine, but has no rear motherboard cover missing. The little tin panel that comes with the Mother board.
It has Asus P5K mother board with a Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E6600 Quad core 2.4ghz with (i think ) a g-force 6800.
If not look on ebay for a better PC or graphics card.

Or give auto desk fusion 360 a go? Its free, online based, it might still be a struggle on an older PC, but it might run, which is half the battle at
the moment

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

First thing to try to installing the latest driver for your GPU. Chrome will not enable WebGL
if older drivers are installed.
Try WebGLReport to get a report on the capabilities of your system.
