Although I hate to say it my IBM Thinkpad isn't bad.
Paula's Siemens Fujitsu isn't bad either but a bit heavier than the Thinkpad.
Rich.
P.S. are you on MSN??

Dell are usually excellent in terms of the components they use - certainly better than the average PC you'd get from PC World etc. I don't
know much about laptops but I should think it'd be the same for laptops.
Of course if you're feeling really adventurous you could build your own to save a few quid! (In true Locost style )

Dell laptops are fine BUT watch out for the whacking great delivery charge 49 pounds for a laptop is OTT.
HP Compaq Pressario, IBM Thinkpads, Fusitsu-Seimens, Toshiba, Hitachi, Sony --- are all excellent.

What will you be using it for?
If you do alot of travelling with it an Acer Travelmate will be great. They tend to be very light.

I'm typing this on a Compaq presario which I bought from the HP ebay shop. Described as Refurbished, it was actually end of line. Still
perfectly modern though.
2.6ghz celeron, 256mb ram, dvd/cd writer etc blah blah....
£300 - works for me
