downloading music/movies

dunno if anyone can shed some light in this but here goes anyway.

i'm on ntl 1mb broadband (or at least thats what we pay for), a few weeks ago i was getting pretty fast downloads from kazaalite and winmx, then my HD went pop so fitted a new one reinstalled everything on it then downloaded winmx. problem i'm getting is everything is beyond slow, i mean slower than back in the bad old days of dialup! as for kazaalite i can't even find that anywhere to download it?

internet it's self is fast enough, web pages open up a reasonable rate but it's just downloading things i can't seem to get on with!

anyone have any clues?

40kbps is a bit slow granted... sp2 does slow things up a bit... as you can see...
