Phishing again

I don't even have an ebay account, and i just got an email from 'ebay' saying i need to update my account details Here

Just a word of warning......

not even very convincing

The address is a dead give away for a start....(also the fact you dont have an ebay account )

I tried the link to test out Spoof Stick which is a spoof site dectector extension for Firefox it came up "You're on e-dating-agency.com" in large friendly green letters
I just luv Firefox :-)

Ebay only send emails to you about items you are watching or bidding on. Anything else they use the My Ebay message section.

That's not exactly correct... I buy and sell on ebay and one thing which does flag up a thing like this is when your buying limit has been exceeded. It's a long drawn out process which requires a few emails and even further deposits by ebay into your bank - which you have to disclose specific amounts to verify the details.

Everything is done using a secure encrypted page and this can be seen by the padlock symbol one the bottom right of the screen. That symbol is SO important!!! All secure sign-in's must be done on a secure page other wise it's corruption.

Personally I'd not respond at all to something like that, but I was questioning ebay's procedures when I had to extend my limit for one particular item. It felt very insecure for some reason.
