DVR Card Problems
Recently bought a new DVR card off ebay so i can record my security camera on my computer.
I've followed the instructions supplied with the card, but when trying to run the software that comes with it it complains that the Security Key
is not found. The program is called Pico2000.
Now to me that sounds like a Software problem, but the guy just wants me to send the card back to be swapped with a new one, which is a pain in the
arse cos i cant do that till saturday and it's going to cost me !!!!
Does anyone have any experience of these cards and their software, any other software i can try ?

This does sound like a software problem. I have a similar set-up using a 4 input DVR card and Pico2000 software, do not remember anything about a
security key, software went straight in; the only thing I had to do was run some "English Conversion" bit of software after installing.
You have me thinking now that this may have been some sort of CRACK.

Pico2000 is software, from a canadian company as I remember. If you look at there website you'll find out what the problems
http://www.ucltech.com/
if it is version 1.8, well you can read the website for yourself, there are freeware drivers available for the DVR card, if you need it U2U me and
I'll look it out for you
P.S. If it is Pico2000 ver 1.8, I wouldn't bother trying to get it to work, because it's very flaky anyway

Mmmm guess what; Pico2000 ver 1.8.0 !!!
Seems to be working okay though, took a couple of goes to load but seems okay after that.
Seems I might have to look at ver 2.3 now; any other we (Ben & I) should consider?

Cant find the software version, probably cos i cant run it to find out.
Cant log into the update page cos i haven't got any log in details, as they weren't supplied by ebay seller.
Found a trial version of BeyondTV which i'm hoping will work once downloaded.

Just dug out my d again, looks fairly authentic - blue printed background with Pico 2000 showing through in chrome.
Boots immediately into setup programme when put in PC and offers various choices, think I went with Pico2000-208 and then ran the "English
pak.exe" file on the same CD.
Sound familiar?

Ahhh this may help!!!!
\Found original bit of paper that was in CD case. To quote
1) Please run "English pack.exe" after setup and reboot
2) Use 2k driver for XP
3) If see error message "Security key not found", please change DVR card to a different PCI slot.
Fiendishly clever these Chinese.

Mine dont look like that
Although it looks fairly authentic, says SK-2000F on it, which is what i saw on the website phoenix posted.
It boots the cd, but only comes up with cd contents and not a nice menu

Ben, if you suspect in any way that the software is pirate when you paid good money for real then contact the original software company explaining
your fears. A mate of mine got an accounts package from eBay in good faith that it was 100% legit and it was so obviously a copy it wasn't even
worth the guy trying to palm it off as real. It really was very poorly copied. My mate reported it to the supplier and they sent him a genuine
version FOC. They did ask him to shop the eBayer in return of course but then they would wouldn't they.
