I've been thinking.....dangerous for me as wife recons I'm brain dead from the ankles upward.....How do I see whats in a secret partition
on my disk (put there by time to hold Windows xp for re-instalation purposes) Surely it must just be a direct copy of the standard windows instalation
disk plus any shite time want it to instal. can I therefore not copy windows onto a disk and use it as a standard instalation disk....

you mean an hidden partition?
Question 1 yes, you can burn an image from your pc to DVD etc. and use it as an restore disc.
Question 2 No, in your first installation there is taken an shot @ wich time you did that install even if you would let your personal pc standing off
your windows will be unusable the next logon....
also it has an tricky system for changing the bios time...and date etc.
this is maybe an bad answer because you don't are realy clear of what you want.

Makes sense to me...i think.
It might be a copy of the windows disc + some time shyte. It will not be that hidden, only in windows explorer. DOS or maybe even command prompt
should let you see the contents of it. If so then you just need to copy the entire directory to your normal partition, delete out the crap, and make
an ISO image of the resulting files. Then burn it to a bootable cd. You might get lucky, you might not.
Alternatively buy a copy of windows (XP home will set you back about £50), and get someone to send you the DOS partition magic boot discs. Wipe your
hdd completely and install proper windows.

Personally I try to steer clear of thinking. Causes un-told where to the brain.

You can use a partition manager like “partition magic” there are lots of other programs available some for free look on download.com or maybe some one
else will suggest a good free one.
This will enable you to see the partition and its contence.

Yes you can however it will install all the other stuff that came on the PC (weather you think this is good is up to you) however if you don’t mind
loosing all the crap just borrow a copy of XP from some one.
I personally would do the following copy the partition to a CD /DVD to create a recovery disk / back up. Then use partition magic to remove the unused
partition and add the space to the main partition.

Hijack this will get rid of Supanet. Or at least it should. Along with maybe a bit of manual registry editing.

Have you got a serial number for xp on your tower. Blag a copy of a windows disk and use the serial number to install it after you format, totally
legitimate as you have paid for the operating system once already.
