sound card
quick question, if i get a soundcard that connects via one of the pci slots will that bypass the onboard soundcard?
got issues with the one on my old pc just won't work, tried drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling it everything and it just won't work! a
basic sound card is £4 so it's really not worth worrying over i just wanna make sure it will solve the problem.
thanks again!
built a car, built a home, had a family. lost the family, lost the home, still got the car.

You will need to turn the onboard sound off in the bios.
Hit del when you startup your pc, then have a look in the bios section called something like 'integrated peripherals' there shoudl be an
option in there to turn the sound on and off.

If del doesn't do the biz, just watch the screen very carefully for the first few seconds and it should somewhere on there say which button to
press to enter setup Del, F2 ect , the rest is the same as what David said.
