Alternative to Norton
I am having real trouble renewing my subscription to Norton and thought i would see if there is an as good or better *FREE* anti virus programme out
there.
What would you peeps suggest?

AVG seems ok to me. The only difference between the free and bought version is that you get no support.

Mcaffee is 100 times better than Norton however so is a lot of the free stuff. Apart from its adverse effects on the running of a computer the worst
thing about Norton is trying to clear it all out.
Free-AV http://www.free-av.com/
and Free AVG http://www.grisoft.com/doc/1
If doing some web research on anti-virus software on sites like Castle Cops don't get confused by some reports from users " I loaded
software X in place of software Y and it discovered 10,000 infected files that software X hadn't found" --- 99 times out a hundred
these are false posatives, all av software gives some false posatives some more than others.

Stick a Triumph in it and make a Triton...
I use Norton and keep it up to date and have had no problems at all apart from power supply doodahs blowing up..
My lad swears by AVG, think it's a free download but not sure.
My Daughter has taken over production of the damn fine Triton race seats and her contact email is emmatrs@live.co.uk.
