Avatar size Width

I know I am not the first to say this but some of the avatars are getting a bit too wide again.

Fred - I get BOF but not IMRTB?

Is it I Must Resort To Buggery?

Oh, and restricting avatar size to 200 is a great idea... signature pictures I think are a great idea... as long as they are not animated!

Is mine too big? If so I will get one of the kids to sort it.

I Might Regret This But........

My motivation is that I am on a slow connection, and anything that makes the posts longer than they need to be means more pages to click into - this forum has the best signal to noise ratio Ive seen, lets keep it that way?

cheers

We all have ideas about what an acceptable width is.

Mines 200px wide, which I think is wide enough.

But for those stuck in the 90's and with resolutions of 800x600 it does take up quarter of the screen width.

Whats wrong with my gifs?

Something else to consider is optimising the avater and all images if possible. Some programmes can reduce the file size dramaticaly without reducing the physical size of the image. Photoshop is very good at this which is what i use but there are others.

Microsoft Office Picture manager is also very easy to use, alot easier than photoshop, you just select edit picture then choose which size you want.
