IPOD help needed with MPEG4
Daughter has new ipod 60G for birthday.
I think we've got it all worked out except for how to put a DVD in the PC and get it onto Itunes and then the PC.
Am I right in thinking I need to convert to MPEG4 outside of Itunes and then upload it to the Ipod?
Any suggestions for a Free and preferably very easy (so I can understand it!) solution to do this?
Or have I got it all wrong?

you're theory is all correct. been a while sinse i bothered doing any for mine as it's such a long winded process but from memory it goes
something like......
dvd - pc, i use dvd shrink or dvd decrypter, both fairly simple to use.
then you need to convert what ever file type it saves as to mpeg4, i use a 3gp converter that i downloaded to use with my psp, basically allows you to
convert any file type to any other file type. plenty to chose from and they all do pretty much the same job in the same way so i can only really
recomend a google search and take pot luck as i can't find a link for the one i use.
then it's just a case of let the i-tunes software spend several hours converting it once again! took me roughly 3 hours from dvd to ipod.
decided in the end it was a waste of drinking time so decided against doing anymore!
built a car, built a home, had a family. lost the family, lost the home, still got the car.
