Network Trouble
God I hate trying to move stuff around between PC's......
I've got a laptop and PC and a router, and had them talking to each other before to move files around.
I've made all the relevant 'c' drives as shared....
But now when I go to the Network section on my PC to try to find the laptop it say I don't have persmission to use the network resource. Contact
administrator (which I am) . Windows cannot find the specific path....
I've tried turning it all on and off - same response.
I can see the shared drive on my PC from the laptop, but it will not allow me to drag and drop the folder in, it just creates a shortcut there.....
Help please??????

If its XP, by default the sharing is disabled to prevent you sharing files.
I'm on XP Pro here, but from what I remember its something like control pannel->network-> then properies on the connection.
From what I remember windows help is pretty good on sharing files.
It works something like Pro - by default you can share, Home by default you can't share. I'v ehad to do the same thing a couple of times
on friends PCs where transferring over files.

You don't say what OS you are using?
But if you can access the properties of the share, make sure you have allowed full access to everyone, and try using the admin credentials of the PC
hosting the share you are trying to access
And as above, make sure you have enabled sharing

Jasper, if you manage to get it working please let me know how ? 
I have exactly the same problem as you with the same error message.
It was ok all up and running, then, one day about a year ago, a problem with NTL, had to reboot everything and now PC can 'do it all',
laptop can see the PC but get the same errors as you.... 
XP Pro on both laptop and PC.......

I have resorted to buying a Western Digital external HDD, so as its plug and play I can plug into either computer. It has the added bonus of being a
great place to store my work and photos, should either of the computers disc drives gives up the ghost.

Ahhh - stupid me, I have a dirty great USB HD - I'll just plug that in.
Now I've got another problem - Adobe Acrobat Professional keeps trying to re-install itself, even though it's already installed -

Ah yes..had that too with Acrobat......make sure it has the current updates, if that doesn't cure it, do a 'detect and repair' from
the help menu of Adobe, mines ok now, so not sure what the problem was

do you have local software firewalls installed on the PCs ? (if not you should!)
Make sure they are set to trust the correct local network.
