Display issues

Here's a strange one for someone to help me out with. For sometime now my mouse pointer has dissappeared from the left of the screen and seems to take quite a bit of movement before it reappaears. This morning I think I found out why when I did a screen dump and copied it to a word document. I was amazed to see that there was a complete desktop image to the left of my standard desktop that I cannot access except by continually moving my mouse to the left. Does anyone know what is causing this and what to do to get rid of the unwanted siamese twin?
There should be an image attached to this post but if not it is in my photo archive. Basically what I can see on my PC is everything to the right of the vertical row of icons and the grey bar but my mouse cursor can access all of the image which is very annoying.

What have you got to do to get a friggin image to appear in a post? Bah fcuking humbug.

Sounds like you may have dual monitor support on, or your desktop top resolution is not the same as your screen resolution, try right clicking on the background and pull up the screen properties, goto settings and check these

After looking at the image I would say your desktop res is not the sames as your screen res

Cheers Pheonix, dual monitor support was the problem. I've switched it off and it's sorted now.

Happy Christmas.
