Windoze 2000 Pro SP4

I have used W2KP since, well, about 2001!

Now almost everything new needs SP4 which I have (but not installed) but I have a really annoying side effect.

With SP4 installed, any browser works VERY slowly, usually saying 'www.locostbuilders.co.uk cannot be found', but repeated pressing of the refresh button will get it to connect.

If I remove SP4, the problem disappears.

I have installed the latest Mozilla, but no difference.

Anyone got any ideas? I need to sort it as my new laser mouse will not install its drivers without SP4

Thanks
Mark

Sounds like a DNS issue...

Domain Name Server, you can confgure it in the network settings in control panel. Click netwrok settings, then internet connection, right click on TCP/IP connection and click properties. Then you can input all of your own info. Just change the DNS to something different and see if that fixes it.
