Sky Router

Hi all - hope someone could help me out here - well my neighbour!

He has just installed SKY BB and telephone with TV - he has lost his wits about the system not communicating with the Router.

I went round to analyse the situation and basically ended up with the same loss of wits with it. His PC never came with a dongle so I took around mine to test the connectivity. I use Netgear Router myself (which is exactly the same one as the SKY one!) so I configured the netgear settings to mine to test internet - it worked. Altered to his Signal and although it showed a strong signal it would not converse and I could not ping the router either!

He explained he MAY have reset the password on the router to one he cant remember. I need to reset the passwords etc on the router to be able to configure to connect to the internet. It works on a LAN but not WLAN on his system.

Any help would be appreciated!

Steve

standard sky router password is

username: sky
password: admin

Security settings for connection should be on a sticker on the underside of the router.

There should be a reset button on the back, just a hole to stick a pin in..

If you can't ping the router it is LAN problem, his router may be using a different IP address range.
