Digital quality of phone line
Can i check the digital quality of my phone line?
my broadband is very slow and drops out frequently

is it BT broadband with a home hub by any chance? yeah... it'll do that.
really though, if you go to BT broadband website theres a speed testing thing on there, but mine's been really slow for about 2 weeks now
Edit: Plus since getting the home hub, my normal phone line sounds like shit

Most ADSL modems (or routers) have a connection status tool included with them, and this will display a couple fo things like the ADSL line
attenuation, and noise margin (or Signal to Noise Ratio).
These figures can be used as a rough guide to the quality of your line, but to find out porperly, I think you need to get in touch with your ISP
and/or BT to assess your line.
Have a read of this, it might help a little, or do a search on google for ADSL line loss, or line attenuation, there is loads of info out there.

Somewhere on your router-modems service menus you will find the stats page with the upstream and downstrean attenuation and other snr and other stats.

I'm with BT, seems i can only get on line now mornings and late eves, its getting worse.
