Pipex spam?

Those of you that are with Pipex are you getting a lot of spam e mails lately?

The reason I ask is my father is.
Is there any good spam blockers that are cheap or free?

I'm with Pipex but I get connected to Tiscali poo servers.

I get loads of spam that appear to be addressed to other people, especially for Viagra. Mails from different sources but with the same message window.

I'm counting down the weeks now until the contract is 12 months old and I can bugger off.

I cannot wait to get rid of them, they have been totally useless. I'd love to talk to the guy who called me and persuaded me to move over to Pipex, but, nobody at customer services knows who he is. "Never heard of him sir" oh yeah, tall story indeed.

That just sums Pipex up, load of cowboy con artists.

Right, got that off me chest, back to the Bud....

Some ISPs are a lot better than others on this but they are under constant attack recently Plusnets mail server got well and truely hacked, Although I no longer use them as an ISP I retain a couple of email accounts with Zen and practically no spam gets through their filters.

Two main ways to filter mail on the client PC either install a proxy filter such as K9 or change te mail client to Thunderbird and use its built in fillter.
Either way is very simple to install if the existing mail client is MS Outlook or Outlook Express.

K9 is is the way to go if want to retain Outlook/Outlook Express, it is very easy to install
Thunderbird spam filter is also very good and it is more secure in other ways than the MS product.

k9 link http://keir.net/k9.html

Thundrbird for Windows British English link
http://www.mozilla.com/products/download.html?product=thunderbird-2.0.0.6&os=win&lang=en-GB

K9 and Thunderbird can be used together but it takes a bit of manual configuration and won't work with some Email accounts
