Where are Firefox bookmarks stored

Setting up a new PC at work (amazing service from Dell, business spec machine, ordered on Friday, delivered Wednesday, and £80 less than web price)

Anyway, I've transfered and reloaded almost everything now, but I want to copy over my Firefox bookmarks - any ideas?

Firstly you can export you bookmarks as a HTML page in firefox and import them onto the new install.

Secondly
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<random>.default\bookmarks.html

Hi Jasper - not sure if it will be the same on your PC as it might depend on operating system, etc. but my Firefox bookmarks are in a file called:

C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\prdr0d19.default\bookmarks.html

Obviously "Compaq Owner" should be changed to whatever you username is, and "prdr0d19.default" to your profile ID, but that might give you a clue. Good luck!

ALSO, there is an add on available for firefox which will keep your bookmarks up to date across numerous computers.

just goto tools - addons - get extensions

and have a look round there.

(also recommend things like cooliris previews etc)

If you are running Windows a bit of free software called Mozbackup is what you require. It will backup and restore or transfer all Firefox bookmarks and most addons.

It also backs up and restores/transfers Thunderbird email and account settings.
