Best Media Server Software
I'm trying to sort out my music, photos etc and have almost everything on one hard drive (backed up!). I've bought a Buffalo Link Theater
wireless media box which is fine apart from not being to able to jump through lists.
I'm running the free Buffalo Media Server software (rubbish refresh rate - takes days for music I''ve added to appear!) and also
tried Tversity which is OK but you have to manually create playlists which is a nightmare!
Can anybody recommend some other software that I could use that isn't so clunky!
The box will connect to
DLNA Media Servers
The PC Utility that came with the LinkTheater
Buffalo's DLNA Home Server NAS products (LinkStation Home Server and TeraStation Home Server)
3rd party DLNA servers like TwonkyVision (www.twonkyvision.com)
Microsoft® Windows® Media Connect
3rd party UPnP A/V Servers
Regards
Wyn

Take it back and buy and Xbox 360....
Got my 360 working with Windows Media Player and also allows me to watch stuff I've downloaded via BBC iPlayer, Sky Anytime, 4OnDemand etc....

PS Have you tried it with WinAmp or Orb?
Guessing it's UPnP, so I believe both these should work...
Orb will also allow you to stream it directly to wherever you are over the internet....
