Computer Help Needed

Last night I tried removing a few programmes from my home computer that I don't use anymore (the ones that came free with the computer but the trial licences have expired).

Trouble is, something went wrong! Started the computer this morning, and I get a constant window popping up.

It is the Windows Installer window, which auto starts to configure "Roxio Media or Music Manager"

It comes back that it can't find the file, with an option box to "Cancel" which when pressed starts the whole thing off again. After about 5 mins of this I get another box popping up, saying "Microsoft.net" is missing something. And I can't close that down either!

Any help gratefully received!

Mike

Did you use add/remove programs to take them off? It should use their uninstaller and remove all the registry entries. If they are still in startup you can use msconfig from the run menu to stop them loading at startup.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Did you remove the .Net framework?

Most modern applications require this to run correctly.

You can download a new version from the Microsoft website and install and this could resolve the problem.

.NET framework can also be installed from the windows update website if you choose the custom option.
