Refreshing an old laptop to use with MS, formatted the hard drive (via usb into my other vista laptop) and re inserted it into the old laptop, win 2K
install cd in the drive and switched on expecting the pc to boot from the cd so i can install windows........ but nothing just a message saying
missing bootmgr ??
Do i need to copy some files onto the hard disk or do some setting up??

as you boot up you need to hit del or f2 or whatever your particular lappy needs to get into the bios.
Then you just go through the menu till you find the bit where you set the boot order, set the cd first in the order, save and exit.
should work ok then.
