new laptop problems

Hi guys, i need help yet again on pc issues. i am trying to get a new laptop to connect wirelessly to a netgear wg834g wireless modem. the laptop is a brand new toshiba tecra a9, it has intel centrino inside.  however it connects to the modem automatically but says limited connectivity so cant get online. is there something silly i am missing here? can someone help?  i have another laptop which connects fine but that uses a wireless usb stick even though i just found out that intel centrino too and that is the same it will not connect properly through the centrino.     any ideas guys  thanks in advance  rob

Sounds like a secure network problem. You need to enter the MAC address into the router.

Find the MAC address of your Laptop:

Start/Run
type: cmd
type: ipconfig/all

write down the physical address, both of them.

Now go into the router config system:

Go into wireless settings...
Go into setup access list
enter one of the MAC addresses into the system. Click apply. Wait for a minute until the system changes. Try the connection. If it's not this try the other MAC address.

Hope this helps...

Steve
