Audio Recording / editing

Anybody suggest a free downloadable record / edit software ? Just been to Computerworld but theirs (Audioforge ? )is one user only and I want it on two machines.

Schools use Audacity - but it doesn't export as MP3 without a plugin...

you could illegally download adobe audition and use it on as many computers as you like... that'd be free.

But I wouldn't recommend doing that as you'll get in trouble....

I've heard good things about audacity but never used it

Just to be different I'd recommend Goldwave... Supports MP3 as standard.

top piece of kit easy to use and cheap.

dont know if its still around as i bought it a while back.
