DVD player knackered? - help!!

hey all,

Right my DVD player in my PC is driving me potty!

I use my DVD player in my PC for watching DVDs. I have a radeon video card that has my two monitors (split screen) and my TV on a third S-video card output which is connected into the TV.

It started a few weeks ago with the sound track skipping but now it has got worse and now the video is skipping. Ive tried updating my video software, VLC media player, but thats made no difference. ive also tried dissabling the two monitors incase it was overloading the video card, but thats made no difference.

Im thinking the DVD player is knackered? it works for loading software etc. without any obvious problems. the only thing i havent tried is burning a DVD.

any ideas? if its faulty i want to get it sorted as its still under warranty i think!

A new DVD-RW drive is only about £15 anyway. So just replace it

Sounds like its probably faulty.

Have you tried cleaning the lens?
