memory battery

the clock on my compo is running slow so i assume i need a new battery on the motherboard.
are they all "cr2032" mine is a dell about 8-10 years old

How far out is the clock when you start the machine up from power off?

have you googled it ?? some have the battery soldered in

clock looses about 10 mins a week,i dont want to take the compo to bits twice as its a spaghetti nightmare down there,just slip them in and out in one quick move

Afaik they're all the 2032, no harm in taking it out to check

yup 99% CR2032, seen a few that used soldered in batteries over the years, but usually in very old machines (think 386)
