If you need to use IE as your default, go to tools, internet options, programs (tab), and then select the make default button.
If you open Firefox it might ask you to make that as your default. Unsure where the firefox option is for this, but just have a search around in
there.
From what i can remember you need to use the browser you want as a default, and then go into that options menu screen and select the appropriate
option.
I use Chrome, so i would just need to go to tools then options, and there is a button on that screen to make chrome as the default browser.
There probably is a registry entry somewhere but unsure where, and what you would need to alter it to.

On another angle, there is a firefox add in you can get, called the IE tab.....it sits just under the menu bar along with the 'history',
'home' tab etc.
If you are browsing in firefox but you need to see the page in IE, you just press the icon. The page then opens in IE. To switch back, you just press
the icon again.

I've been finding Firefox a bit crap lately, keeps loosing or not remembering passwords, crashing on web pages that IE doesn;'t, maybe
it's time to have a change with Chrome....
