Tower systems any value?

I have two old ish PC tower systems to dispose off,
both have all the innards inside, ie mother boards, dvd drives etc,

Do the above have any value ?
as i could ebay them

alot of people use them as media center's in the living room.

as you can throw them in HTPC boxes and they dont need to have much power.

shame you aint closer.

by oldish do you mean more than 2 years? if so in my opinion there bin fodder, new pc's are so cheap nowadays anyway.

May be of use to someone , if they are close by ,but in my experience , ebay costs and postage kill it .

generally they are worthless.
But, if they are old they will really benefit from installing Ubuntu operating system on. This is well known for being very forgiving on older spec PC's.
My home PC's are ancient and I was given them as Windows chugged on them. Still going strong on Ubuntu now.
You could try e-bay, but if I were you I'd see if there was a local charity or recycling centre that would take them and give them a good home. Preferably a not for profit type place.

Being paranoid I'd recommend taking the Hard Drive out and bashing the crap out of it before you take the rest to the tip
