NAS Drive or USB to NAS adaptor
Hi All
I've got my music spread all over a few laptops and USB hard drives and want to get it and other files onto a NAS drive. But I don't want
to spend too much money as I've just bought a Squeezebox ouch and new speakers! As I've got a decent USB external drive, I thought about
using one of those USB to NAS adaptors (USB 2.0 HUB Nas Storage Network Printer Sharing Adapter | eBay
High Quality USB NAS Adapter USB enclosure to new NAS function )
Anybody got any thoughts on these adaptors or should I go for a basic NAS instead.
I'd love to be able to plug my USB printer in and turn that into a "network" printer too.

Not sure on the USB adapter but I've just invested in a ReadyNas Duo from Netgear + two 1TB Seagate drives.
It really is the business. All content is streamed from it. Videos -> HTPC. Music to Squeezebox. Pictures of my son to grandparents via the web
etc. etc.
Made my life much easier and very "moddable" too which I've been wasting my life away on.

I have used a few bits of PlusCom gear in the past and while it is cheap and gets the job done isn't great quality, for example on an
external DVD enclosure the 5v/12v power supply was very poorly made and failed after a month.
I have been an external enclosure similar to the one in the link below for a few years now no problem very simple to set up
