XP - remember that ?
A friend runs her computer on XP. It's been getting slower so she wants to clean up. She can't find a backup function. I've looked
on my old XP machine and I can't find it either. Tried Control Panel, System Tools etc. But no sign. Is there one ?
I'm addicted to brake fluid, but I can stop anytime.

I seem to remember I had to install the backup utility off of the xp disk to be able to see/use it?

Remeber XP?? Why aye, I lament all the recent ones and yearn for something as simple as Windows 2000! Remember that???

XP's Fine
I've never gone beyond Windows XP it works fine for me and some of my older favourite software.
Replaced Vista on a friends laptop it flew after that.
Seems to me you need the extra power of new compo's to run the extra features that we dont need at all in the latest operating system......

i've got the backup facility in start>all programs>accesories>back up
Still using xp here too, it does everything i need it too, faster than windows 7 would. can't see the point in changing.
I like running cubase on mine, and windows 7 with cubase on this laptop would kill it i think

I removed Vista from both my laptop and my desk PC and replaced them with XP. XP was one of the better versions of Windows and it is a lot better
than Vista. I have never used Windows 7 and from listening to people who have it I dont think I will ever use it.
Talking about old versions of Windows; I have a copy of Windows 3 on floppy disk somewhere about my place, it was nothing like any of the subsequent
versions.

Excellent tip but it asks me to insert a floppy disc and I don't have a floppy disc drive! How do i change it to a cd writer?
You'd be surprised how quickly the sales people at B&Q try and assist you after ignoring you for the past 15 minutes when you try and start a
chainsaw

You should be able to load those files onto a flash drive and then your new PC will be able to boot it from there.

Cobian Backup is the thing to use for backup on XP --- free program under GPL license.
XP still Dual boot with Mint on Netbook but had to switch the office PC to Win 7 and Office 2010 (******* ****!) when widows update broke
Excel, quite glad the old system had been subject to too many Microsoft updates and was getting slower and slower to boot despite having been
re-installed a few times.
Office machine is now an ex-PC World display Dell Zino running Window 7 64 which flies along on the type of tasks it does, lovely looking
and tiny it was 200 quids only real fault is not enough USB ports and I can't find eSATA female host to USB A female host adaptor

Yup but it says I need to have some sort of command file - how do I direct it there it wants to go to a floppy and does not give an option!
