Mobile phone/sim card comms
I'm looking for a free (OBVIOUSLY) program that will allow me to communicte with any phone/simcard package that can be acessed through the phone
to usb cable. Mainly for editing contacts etc on the pc.
Thanks in advance folks
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

Not sure about one that works with ALL phones but I'm sure each manufacturer has their own software available

is there such a thing? usually the software is manufacturer specific - even then it doesn't usually do what you want.
Often just plugging it in to the pc will result in a removable drive showing in my computer without any software being used.
Cheers

Depends on which phone and which computer operating system also often the phone manufacturer or network provider will offer software.
Some phones are easier to talk to than others. Start by looking at your phone manufacturers website then your network provider if no joy search
for freeware or GPL software.
In the Linux world Wammu, Gammu and Gmobile Media work pretty well
For a smartphone Google Contacts works great.

Usually on phones only the contents of a removeable memory card on the phone will show up as a removable drive on the pc, to access more you need
software.
