Thats odd... It didnt ask me for one. You dont have a XP key that has been registered 6 million times before have you?. I know that M/S are tracking
dodgy registrations from key genereators and multiple registered keys etc. perhaps this is why it wants to see your key. If yours is legit, have you
tried putting in your original XP key?.
Finally have you looked at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/default.mspx
Hope this helps.

a very nice person has sent me a key gen for it now so should be ok i hope!
it's for xp and yeah it is a bit of a dodgy copy, good reason for it though! the copy of xp home i got with this pc didn't like my modem
when i got broadband installed here so my mate put his company copy of xp pro on and it worked a treat but it's just a pain in the arse at times
like this!

You need to make sure your registration code has "640" as the second set of numbers otherwise SP2 will fail and lock you out of your
machine.
Right click on my computer, choose properties, look under 'Registered To'
If it's not I suggest you get googling...
