Ebay email after reporting
Hello,
Thank you for contacting eBay about an E-Mail you received that appears
as though it is an authentic E-Mail from eBay. We will investigate this
situation immediately.
Please be advised that there have been cases where people have attempted
to gain access to an eBay member's personal information by sending
"spoof" E-Mails. Spoof E-Mails intentionally give the false impression
that they have been sent by eBay to solicit people to transmit their
account information.
Based on your inquiry to eBay, the E-Mail you received was likely to be
a spoof. If you entered personal information such as your password, or
credit card numbers into a web site based on a request from a spoofed
email, you need to take immediate action to protect your identity. For
information on spoof emails and what action you need to take if you have
entered in your personal information, we strongly encourage you to read

If somebody else but you should know your eBay password, please change
it immediately:
To change your password, please follow the steps below:
1. Click on the "site map" link located at the top of any eBay page
2. On the Site Map, scroll through the "Services" section
3. Locate "Registration"
4. Click on the "I forgot my password" link and follow the
instructions on that page.

reports of attempts to impersonate eBay. In order to dedicate resources

I get messages from ebay in the "My Messages " section under my ebay. The only stuff they send in emails now is buying alerts. A friend of
my wife had her account hijacked this week and the hijacker tried to sell a Toyota Supra through her. Ebay spotted the fraud and suspended the account
immediately.

There has been a lot recently I reffered two to eBay over xmas and new year.
On my Windows PC the spam fllter K9 seems to be working properly filtering them out from any real ebay stuff

I've had a few of these - the real give away being that they were sent to an email address which I have never used for eBay.
