Hi,

Oh! mate was having £54 a month removed off his card for a year before he noticed runs the following: if on XP make sure you have service pack 2 loaded, Spybot is not bad although there is a nasty little package called 'dyfuca' which is a pain to remove (keeps reloading after supposed removal from reg' file) and will launch software without permission, so Zone alarm is nice little firewall (free or buy),

stops in's and out's unless you say so (dyfuca normally tries project ** is wanting internet access, so just deny it on Zone alarm). Assume you have a virus checker if not try AVG (free or buy)

Has had little problem since although has learned to make sure the little paddlock comes up on the browser corner (secure site) before giving card details out, as well as making sure there is a landline and address of any company sending details too (as well as checking monthly statements).

Do have Acronis which cleans up most cookies, spyware, cache, etc, etc. Can send if needed. Hope it helps

Mark

More likely you have either had your card details stolen by someone you have bought something from or a phishing spoofed web site. Recently a guy was caught selling on card numbers at a highly respected ISP, he coughed to only about 250 numbers.

Web security wise the best advice is clear out your cookies, download and run "Hijackthis" only from http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

Down load and run Free-AV http://www.free-av.com

For added security install Mozilla FireFox for browsing its much secure than than M$ IE6 and like wise use Mozilla Thunderbird for email.
