there are two ways of installing an adsl package one
using inline filters.. for every device..
2 splitting from the beginnen of the house entrance and there you put one filter..
with one input (line) and 2 outputs adsl and phones/faxes..
adsl is buil whit the line sharing filosofy sow you should do what ever you want..

You need to plug the modem line in but make sure its through a filter.

You should be able to plug the fax in, so long as you use a filter. Not all faxes are compatible with ADSL.

I looked into this a while ago. So that someone can make money, you must be connected to a modem, through a phone line (with a filter). You can use
microsoft outlook i think to send the fax.
Or you can use an internet based company, but they charge more than the price via the modem.
Hope this helps
PS is this is asking about using the pc to send a fax over adsl, or using a fax machine with an adsl line?

Use a old fashioned pots fax-modem through a filter, fax software installs so it looks to windows like a printer, which is fine as long as anybody who
uses it is savvy enough with windows to select which to print to.
Sending faxes works fine recieving really requires better software than windows built in.
The other big disadvantage is it opens your computer up to dialer trojans.
