RazeSpyware ?
This has appeared on my PC and I did not install it!
It looks like "Ad aware" type of prog and keeps popping up every few hours.
I have tried to uninstall it but it came back.
Anyone familiar with it? Is it malicious?
Where did it come from if not harmful? What sort of software would install it?
Any help/advice appreciated!

Dodgy websites, dodgy downloads - some marketing survey you filled in lately?
Using the software from our website - ewido, hijackthis should see it gotten rid of... good luck!

Spyware is truly getting out of hand
Not directly connected to this particular infection but for the lastest big company to get caught deliberately spreading spyware
Google for "Sony spyware"or look in BBCi science and technology news pages.

I followed advice found on the web and it seemed to be all ok.
I then ran Ewido as advised by Hellfire. It said it found over 300 threats, so I let it do it's thing.
Now I can't access my email. I can't send or receive and know there is email at ISP.
I am having other minor problems as well now, like it not wanting to shut down or restart. I can't access antivirus reports, it just stops
responding.
I wouldn't mind had I downloaded the thing in the first place, but as I'd never even heard of it and have Virus protection I thought I was
reasonably safe.

This is why I use Linux at home - it's relatively immune to this sort of nonsense.
I use XP at work, but we have a professional IT manager who runs an expensive bit of firewall kit. I can't match that on my home PC.

Most likely a vital outlook express file or setting has be destroyed. For a quick fix --
Google for Mozilla Thunderbird.
Download Thunderbird and install it . Start it up and can pick up your Outlook express mail settings and existing mail and then allow to down load
your new email without any fuss,

I'm using Mozilla and have been for at least a year! I always try to avoid using MS progs if I can.
Everything is dieing now!
It got so bad I tried a Windows restore. Now it won't even let me put graphics drivers back or to update online.
I can't even get my homework documents to load up so I can print them for college tomorrow.
I hate Windows!!!!!!
I have Linux loaded onto my other pc and it is very stable, but it is not as easy to use as windows and trying to install software requires a Degree
in Astro-physics.

Installing software in Linux is easy and pretty well fool proof as long as it is a Debian based Linux.

Outcome
The outcome of this problem is that I had re-reload windows completely. It would not repair no matter how many times I tried. In fact the more I tried
to run repair the worse it got.
Now I am in the process of reinstalling my software. It is amazing how much stuff you have loaded up.
At the moment I am enjoying fast starts and shutdowns though! 
Most annoying thing is losing all of my bookmarks and emails. 
And because Norton detected previously loaded install it refused to install at all. Had to go through a multistage clearance operation to remove all
previous traces. Very long winded!
But all is working fine at the moment (he says touching wood).
