DVD decoder software
Anybody recommend any good decoder software? I have a DVD drive, but WMP and RP say they need a plugin to play it. Lots on the web I can pay for,
anybody know any good free ones?

Codec or ripper?
I'm not sure what you're after but try either doom9, xvid or divx, just google them and see if there's anything on there. Codecs are
free from any of them.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Just want to play a DVD on my computer - nothing complicated. A mate made me a DVD of his car at Brands and it won't seem to play on my PC, just
asks for plugins...
I've got DivX installed, but it won't play it.

Has it benn created as a proper 'DVD' or is it an MPEG file you can browse and see on the disc?
Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a
car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes
and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

I think it's a proper DVD, but I'm not sure, here's the file name:
VTS_01_1.VOB
It's one of about 6 in the folder.....

As far as i'm aware this is free (It should work because i'm sure your dvd won't be encrypted):
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
Failing that do a search for 'Media Player Classic' which will play about anything

If you don't have any luck I have got a load of codec files which I can email you - haven't a clue if the one you need is in there but you
never know
Cheers,
Raz
