Windows update DISASTER!!!
DISASTER!!
Winupdate has just offered me an update that will give me "Windows Genuine Advantage Notification (KB905474)".
I declined their kind offer.
What do I do now???????????

what is this update thing? i recently installed windows and it hasn't come up with this update notification thing. however its not updating
itself like it did when i last reinstalled windows. that time it was constantly being updated.
if u feel bad i would prob go with linux, much better system. i am currently using it on my xbox.

I dont feel bad for Mr Gates at all, I feel bad that I thought I had a 'safe' hacked copy of WinXP, and I could get the updates.

Genuine Dissadvantage
My wife's machine updated itself to that around 2 weeks ago.
Apart from an annoying Blue Star which regularly nags you and a count-down window at start-up - the only problem I have encountered is a sharp pain in
the back of the neck periodically

Right click the star thing and change notification settings and turn off updates.Alter your non windows firewall to stop micro soft
updates.....Alledgedly.
..Which was nice..

go to pc world take a pen and write down the windows serial number off a pc on display then reinstall your pc, this also works for computers you find
at work the library or your mates house.

Follow instruction on screen
Result 15 minutes later fully functional PC without MicroSoft but with all the software you will ever need.
