Printer Problems

Aquired printer from house clear out some time ago with no drivers, downloaded several from the net but with no joy, keep getting the same error:

Driver is made for Win2K and XP apparently so cant see where this error is coming from? Printer is an Epson Stylus Photo 895.

Any ideas?

Iain

I had an 870 and this one required the original software as it did specific things that the software (not drivers) required. IIRC something to do with the Printing Environment you specifically need the Epson Color Printing System 5.4 but unsure as to where you would get it.

HTH Steve

Disconnect the Printer. Uninstall the printer - make sure you install the drivers BEFORE connecting the printer, they don't like that!

Try the Epson Monitor Install HERE
Then try updated drivers HERE

Both are from Epson UK - Good Luck

I installed a couple of similar Epson printers (one was an 890 one an 895) on XP systems over the last couple of weeks using drivers down loaded from Epson without problem.

Nothing to do with the printer driver, Windows is refusing to run the install program because autoexec.nt is either missing or corupted.

.

This is a Windows Xp problem either due to the a failled installation of Service pack 2 or caused by a Virus.

There are a few people experiencing the same problem... Therefore, it may be a recent XP update problem.
