Cant Format DVD+RW

Hi,
Have got myself a new DVD drive (TSST corp CD/DVDW SH-S182D). When I put in a new DVD+RW and try and burn an image file in Alcohol it says I have an unformatted disc. So I go to the Erase Wizard and try to perform a Full Mode Erase/Format I get the following "Error Message: [05/20/00] - Invalid Command Operation Code".
Have tried doing the same in Nero but with no luck.

Have tried Googling for an answer to no avail. Any of you bright sparks on here got a solution.....please!

Ta.

I would try it first with a normal -R and see if it's anything to do with the format.

Regards

Rich

I'd try a DVD-RW just to see if it's compatible. Both my drives don't like +R/RW...

Nothing to loose...

Weirdly enough my drives that i have had, dislike DVD+R but are fine with DVD+RW, DVD-RW and DVD-R. Very strange.

As others have suggested, try a different disc format, as the drives can be fickle. If that doesnt work, take the drive back and complain

I tend to use all the DVD-xx and only have problems when trying to use DVD+xx. Frustrating isn't it
