strange microsoft going on
i've had 6 pc in the shop today that require activation 4 with genuine licence and 2 without.
wonder what microsoft are up to ?
edit.... yes re-activaion....
2nd edit 2x more pc's in

Does it ask for the seriel number again?
Might not be MS, might just be something thats deleted the reg key. virus / spyware / malware.

nope all xp oem pc mixed makes and yes it is microsoft asking
there must be a update that knocking out multiple activation of serial numbers

It was patch Tuesday this week. There were a few critical updates iirc.
Nothing in our network has needed it - all have OEM copies of XP Pro. Are the affected ones XP home?

I have been informed by microsoft that my software is not genuine. The software was installed on the laptop when i bought it from comet, now i am no
longer getting updates.
