Odd broadband speed problem
I am with Pipex and have had excellent speeds until last week when I first noticed this weird problem.
When first booted, the connection is around 5meg and progressively slows down the longer I use the connection until after an hour it is sub dial up
speed.
I have changed the DNS server numbers but it has made no difference, I live 400yards from the exchange, no virus found by AVG or any online checkers,
regcleaner has cleaned, I don't know what to check next.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Mark

Sounds like an equipment problem at either your end or the exchange, I had something similar just over a year ago it was the card at the exchange took
a long to get it fixed, it was only after the voice line also went down that I managed to get it fixed.
To prove it you will need to try another router.

Do they have any download limits, if so have you hit it and they are throttling you back

How far are you from the exchange ?
Braoadband speed depends on distance, and other factors that effect line attenuation and signal to noise ration
Most modsem-routers have a diagnostic page that you can use to test the attenuations and snr.
