.wps files, how do I make them .doc ?

The missus has got a new PC, running vista with microsoft works.

However all her old work is saved in .doc format.

Anyone know how to convert I have tried downloading stuff and none of it works.

Or better still anyone got a late copy of word ?

Opening in wordpad is a waste of time.

Cheers Mark

Mark,

In the mean time use this viewer which will mean you can view the .doc files , but you wont be able to edit them

Download either Abiword or Open Office Either can open and edit and export .doc files.

Both are 100% free GPL software

Abiword is an excellent and very compact word processor much like Word for Windows 2/MSWord95/MsWord97.

Open Office is a full blown Office suite although the database isn't up to Acees ease of use -- Open Office is a a hefty piece of softeware that can be slow to start up and run on older PC.
