laptop slowing down on internet
My laptop has started to run damned slow on the internet starts off fine then starts taking an age to ;oad web pages with bits and pieces missing
especialy pictures, as an example if I move off here and go back latter it won't show peoples avatars and various other pieces are blank. any
ideas

First suspect is that is that it has run out of space for temporary files --- ie need to clean out the temporary internet files for all users.
After that defrag the disk.
Of course this assumes you haven't picked a resource hogging virus/trojan.

I had a similar problem with a pc - it drove me up the wall.
Tried all the spyware stuff........
I replaced the hard drive as I thought it was failing.........
I re installed windows twice.........
I tried different memory.........
Eventually I gave up and bought a new computer..................
I swapped the wireless card out of the old pc to get connected to the net and guess what?????? yep exactly the same problem with the new pc - it was
the wireless card 
Just thought it worth mentioning

You could also try another internet browser, e.g Firefox, version 3 has come out today.

IT has but it makes Locostbuilders look all squished....
