Problem with listing a classified ad on ebay

I've a couple of things I want to put on ebay as classfied ads but cant work out how to select the classified format. I cant get the normal auction & fixed price but I specificly dont want people to able able to bid on them as they belong to a mate, I want buyers to get in touch with & deal with him & not me & I have no responsibilty for them.
You can see more abou the problem here:

Thanks for any help, Kev.

Its pretty safe to say that Ebay arent about to put an option on preventing any sort of bidding on the item and are likely to pull the listing if they see it suggested to deal with the item offline!!

If you dont want any sort of responsibility then really there is only one option.......... dont list them for your mate. Its you that would get feedback if the item sells anyway!!

Not what you want to hear i'm sure - but guess its just the way it is really

There is an option for classified items. But I have only ever seen classified ads for cars on ebay. Dont think you can do it for anything.

The two links on this help page suggest you can list stuff other than cars as classified but when I click the link for "list in other catergories" I dont get the classified option & it doesnt make any restrictions clear.

Or are there any of the other on-line selling sites that do allow classified ads for most things? Anyone want a tractor driven sawbench & a little off-road truck?!

List the item as a "buy it now" only, with no auction.

A word of warning regarding classifieds.
If you put your auction on for 28 days and some knob buys it 2 hours later and then changes his mind and does not pay. Ebay do nothing to the buyer and do not relist your car. So you lose £17.99.
How do I know?
It happened to me, so no more classified auctions for me ever.

Well that's why we want a classified ad rather than a fixed price, you cannot bid on the classified ad. With a fixed price they could do that & leave me bad feedback too, with a classified they cannot
You have to contact the buyer & do the deal just as you would if you had an ad in the local paper & there is no feedback either.
It's not like ebay don't make any money from this, it costs a lot more in the first place to list something as a classified.

You have it wrong. They Can bid and close the sale. It is expensive for you if people bid as it closes the listing and you have no refund if they don't pay. You also cannot leave an unpaid strike against them.
