zzr trouble

Just got my zzr1100 finally fitted with wiring and prop fitted but now can not get it to start. Have sparks at the plugs, fuel at carbs and it turns over. If you push trottle while cranking it over engine noise changes ant turns over slower.

Any on have any clues, as been running before but as stood for a couple of months.

My ZX9R I had the same simptoms of spark, petrol and no signs of life on its first start.

I cleaned the plugs and used full choke and it burst into life.

Also try some WD40 / carb cleaner direct down the trumpets to see if you can get an initial start?

Make sure your battery is nice and juicy. Once the volts drop (with cranking) the spark that looks nice in the open air can disappear, especially once the plugs get a bit wet.

A car battery is good for this.

Easy-start is also the business.

Finally, now your plugs are a bit fouled, I would pop them out, give them a scrub (brass spark-plug brush, not the steel one I used!!!!) and then heat the ends on a gas ring, just to burn off anything unpleasant. If you pop them back in warm then any flooding problems will also be lessened.

Matt

p.s. its going to sound so good when it goes.
