.FLV file converter?

Anyone using a freeware program to convert .FLV files to another format?

(FLV = flash video).

If, so which one? (I don't want a google to some dodgy website but pointed to the one you have downloaded and used to ensure I introduce no malware )

Not sure what I want to convert to but something that can be read by Windows Media player - .mpg would be the preferred format.

Ta.

I use ffmpeg to convert pretty much anything to pretty much anything else, including converting flv to avi and vice-versa. I've never tried it in Windows though...
