Windows XP Recovery Software

after a brief chat with my friend it been decided to run the recovery disc for xp, but he doesn't have one,have any of you got one i could borrow or can i download one from somewhere?

when you run the recovery disc does it create a windows.old folder like when you run recovery on vista or seven?

isn't the recovery system just part of the installation CD? i.e. when you put the install CD in, from boot up it will ask if you want to recover/repair or install the OS... ?

You did not say why you felt you needed to run the recovery, but have you tried the system restore point? As this fix one of my issue when i had corrupt files. Best done in safe mode

What type of Machine ?? Laptop / Desktop

Make Model - as a DELL cd won;t work on an HP laptop etc

What's the make and model of the computer as it may have it already on the hard disk and just pressing certain buttons will take you to restoration heaven!
